Tuscarora Nation Food Bank: Feeding The Hungry

Efforts to End Hunger in Robeson County, North Carolina

 

The Tuscarora Nation Food Bank efforts to end hunger in Robeson County has been endless to provide many modern and traditional sovereign foods to end hunger. To increase nutrition with end results to improve the quality of life we provide food to all persons who are hungry. 


For decades, the efforts of the Tuscarora Nation Food Bank Program was implemented to improve the quality of life through nutritional and healthy foods which has created a positive change in tribal and non-tribal communities in poverty. No person and child will ever go hungry.


Today, many families in North Carolina remain impacted by the  Coronavirus-COVID-19 in impoverished stricken low income households, which has taken lives during the National Emergency enacted by the US President Trump and the State of Emergency by the North Carolina Governor. The Tuscarora Nation Tribal Council through the Tuscarora Food Bank implements objectives to end hunger in the service area to address and sustain the following:


  • No Kid Hungry Program feeds children, specifically, disabled children with Autism nutritional foods, juices, and water during the spread and impact of the Coronavirus-COVID-19. 
  • Feed the Hungry is in the process of delivering over 456,000 pounds of food and essentials to community.
  • Supplies include ready-to-eat food, soups, beverages, paper goods, cleaning supplies, cereal, snack items, flashlights, batteries, and protein bars.
  • Feed the Children is teaming up with with several partner agencies in the affected areas. 
  • IP Foundation provided a donation to feed the underserved sector population in the communities we serve.
  • Additional community partner help the Tuscarora Nation to end hunger in North Carolina with low income families, poverty stricken children and families, Veterans, disabled children and individuals, low income, and elder. Ware actively working to ensure that food is available to help everyone in need.


The Tuscarora Nation Food Bank is asking for donations to feed poverty stricken households impacted by the Coronavirus and to feed children in the tribal communities through the "No Kid Hungry Program." Our efforts to end hunger is endless and we need your help. Because of budget cuts  with grants during the COVID-19, to feed the communities, we are asking for donations, so no one will go hungry.
